You didn’t think I was gone forever, did you?
Apologies for leaving the scene for a good while, but guess who’s back with an updated, fresh skin-care routine? Autumn is one of those seasons that I’m just not here for – full stop. It’s cold, rainy, and pure grim when you’ve gotta walk through all of the leaves, hence why I needed to incorporate some new items into my routine to feel at least half rejuvenated.
No need to drag things out, just a QUICK SPLASH N’ DASH: Autumn Skin-Care Routine
GARNIER ORGANIC LEMONGRASS GEL WASH
Ooh, if this isn’t my absolute FAVOURITE product right now! Anyone that knows me, knows that I love anything that is lemon-scented: lemon candles, lemon shower gels, lemon fragrances – the whole lot. With this gel wash from Garnier, a little truly goes a long way. Just a small pump produces a perfect amount of foam to cover your face! I’m telling you. If you are looking for a new gel wash, this is definitely the one!
This product is available for purchase from Boots for £3.99
EXFOLIATING BRUSH
If you saw my last skin-care post, then you will have already seen this small blue wonder before. I’ve been using this exfoliating brush from Avon, as part of their Clearskin brand, for a good while now, and although I wouldn’t say that I’ve seen a huge difference – I must admit that I love using it every once in a while to massage my face with, and to gently scrub away all of the dead cells.
Currently I’m alternating between using the Garnier gel wash ON the exfoliating brush, and using the brush AFTER I’ve applied the gel onto my face – with my hands. I’m not too concerned with what order I use the two together, just as long as I’m including them in the routine somewhere!
DERMALEX
This product is slightly on the pricier side of life…
I mean, I paid around £18 for this from Boots, and even though it’s been reduced to £15.19 – it’s still a bit… dear.
I’ve been using it for a month now, which isn’t really a long time and therefore why I’m not surprised that I haven’t seen any drastic changes in my skin. Dermalex has various products that target multiple skin issues such as: acne, rosacea and psoriasis. The one that I have above, is the acne treatment version. I was hoping for a cream that would calm down those awkward bumps that spring up around that time of the month, but WE MOVE.
One thing to note with this particular product, is that you only need to apply a THIN layer and leave it on your face for FIFTEEN minutes.
I’ll continue to use it despite, and I’ll do a full review if I notice anything!
CETRABEN
Again, Cetraben is not a new product on blog. I’ve been using it for around a year now, and I swear by it – in terms of my skin. Usually with other creams that I’ve used in the past, I’ve had to mix them with harsher products such as Vaseline – which aren’t too great for your skin. With Cetraben however, you only need to apply a thin layer to still achieve that dewy look! No other products required.
This product is available for purchase from Chemist Direct for £7.99.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my quick and easy ‘splash n’ dash’ skin-care routine! If you know of any good skin-care products that you either want to use/ are using, then let me know down below! You can never have too much when it comes to your skin, and I’m always open for a lil’ more!

Currently, I’m trying to use more “natural” products. The one I’ve loving lately is the Dudu Osun black African soap! It’s so good, but it’s really drying. I highly recommend it!

Ooo, I’ve heard about African Soap before, but I haven’t yet used it! I definitely want to use more natural based products too. Thank you for sharing!💞

Looks great! I always have problems with keeping up a skin care regimen when it’s cold outside because I just want to get out of bed, wrap myself in a blanket or a sweater and never emerge! These are some great ideas though, and maybe I’ll try to be better this year!

I can definitely relate, aha! This weather is something else – I just want to stay in bed for the whole season. Good luck with figuring out your skin-care regime!💗

I’ve seen these products around a fair bit but never actually found out much about them so it was good to find out more about them! I love the sound of the Garnier face wash, I also love anything with a citrusy scent! x

Awesome Post! Do you have dry skin? I use vegan/all natural products and I really love the Beste .9 Jelly Cleanser from Drunk Elephant – it gives you a deep clean but is super gentle on my oily skin and doesn’t leave your face feeling tight after you rinse and towel. Highly recommend. Also anything with Hylaraunic Acid is good for hydration.

Thank you for your suggestion! My skin does get a little dry sometimes, so hydration is really important – I’ll definitely have to look at that jelly cleanser!💗
