DEAR YOU,

Another year.

It’s crazy how fast time flies. Just yesterday we were in a different year that held so many memories (the good, the bad and CERTAINLY the ugly), and now we’re live on air making a brand new series.

It’s kinda scary – I know, but I promise you that this year can be a thousand times better than your last.

You doubted yourself a lot last year. Felt as though you couldn’t do things because you simply weren’t good enough, and just let opportunity after opportunity pass you as if they were a stranger on the street. Oh, you were so wrong! You didn’t know how capable you were, and how capable you still are. I guess you kept telling yourself ‘I’m not ready yet’ but I learnt that that’s the wrong attitude to have.

Truth is, if we wait until we’re ready then we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives. At least, that’s what a quote I saw said, but I’ve never felt like words resonated with me so much. Both you and I keep holding back on the things that we truly want to do and know that will make us happy, but why?

What are we actually waiting for?

I stopped writing for the best part of eight months. Not because I’d lost my drive to, but simply due to self-doubt and ‘not having enough time’. Well, that’s what I kept telling myself however, looking back I was just making excuses. All along I believed that I couldn’t write because of time when it was actually because I was limiting myself. Truthfully, I’m thankful for this new year and the motivation it has given me continue doing what I love the most.

So, ace that job interview. Go on that holiday. Make your own brand. Chase your dreams.

Stop caring about what other people think and instead start caring about what YOU think.
